I’m Shon Sullivan, founder of 3GEES Media, and I’ve spent more than three decades designing and developing websites for individuals, small businesses, corporate organizations, and non-profits. On occasion, my work has even taken me across borders—coordinating with international clients, translators, and 3 a.m. meetings just to align with their time zones.

My journey into web development started unexpectedly in the mid-1990s. Back then, I was working for a foreign car mechanic in Lakewood, Washington. One day, he asked if I knew anything about websites. I didn’t—but that didn’t stop me. I headed straight to the library, checked out a few books, and taught myself the basics. That spark led me to doing IT work for family and neighbors and gradually building a reputation as the “tech guy” who could make sense of this new thing called the internet.

That reputation opened doors to some pivotal early projects. I worked with Mashell Telecom in Eatonville (which later became Rainier Connect in 1995 and today is known as Lightcurve), Mama Stortini’s Italian restaurant (then located in University Place), and Fife Commercial Bank in Fife, Washington. Back then, websites were hand-coded—static pages painstakingly built line by line.

Fast forward to today, and the tools have evolved dramatically. Platforms like WordPress, prebuilt templates, and content management systems allow me to build websites in a fraction of the time. While these tools make websites more accessible for clients, they don’t always carry the same creative fulfillment I found in crafting something entirely from scratch. Still, they serve their purpose—and they keep the lights on.

In recent years, I’ve taken a deeper dive into developing custom WordPress plugins for clients. As a solo developer, I’m careful about the size and scope of these projects. Complex, highly customized applications often require hundreds of hours of design, coding, and debugging—time and budgets that aren’t always practical for small businesses.

Lil Tiger Ice Cream – Custom Flavors Database

A playful, colorful website designed for a Seattle ice cream shop. The site includes a custom WordPress plugin to manage and display their ever-changing flavor lineup, making updates simple for staff while keeping customers engaged.

This powerful tool makes it easy for staff to update content in real-time while giving customers an engaging, interactive way to browse flavors visually. Click here to learn more.

That said, I’m proud to have built several projects that brought me the same sense of satisfaction I felt during the heyday of Flash animations in the early 2000s. Here are a few highlights:

Rainier Connect (formerly Mashell Telecom)

One of my first major corporate clients, Rainier Connect entrusted me to bring their vision online during the early days of the internet. I built their original site by hand, helping them establish a digital presence that would grow with the company over the next two decades.

Mama Stortini’s Italian Restaurant

I created an elegant, user-friendly website for Mama Stortini’s that showcased their menu and atmosphere, contributing to their growing popularity in the South Sound dining scene.

Fife Commercial Bank

The project involved crafting a professional, secure website that conveyed trustworthiness to their customers, laying the foundation for their future online services.

Dillanos Coffee Roasters

I partnered with Dillanos Coffee Roasters to create a website that mirrored the quality and energy of their brand, integrating tools for wholesale and retail customer engagement.

Korean Women’s Association

For this vital non-profit, I developed a site that shares their mission and resources with the community, making their programs more accessible and impactful.

Porchlight Cares

I helped redesign and streamline Porchlight Cares’ web presence, giving their long-standing mission to serve homeless men in Bellevue a digital home that reflects their compassion and legacy.

Real Estate Agents, Attorneys, Dentists, and More

Over the years, I’ve developed websites for professionals across industries—from brokers and law firms to dental practices and physical therapy offices—delivering clean, functional designs tailored to their audiences.

E-Commerce Integrations

I’ve created e-commerce sites that connect seamlessly with platforms like eBay, Amazon, and various dropshipping warehouses, helping clients scale their online sales efficiently.

Lakewood Chamber of Commerce

For the past 12 years, I’ve proudly served as the “web guru” for the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce. This relationship recently led to the creation of SeeLakewood.com, a fully automated digital magazine for the City of Lakewood’s tourism bureau. The site leverages Google Maps API integrations and dynamic content systems to showcase everything the city has to offer in a modern, interactive format.

Whether you’re launching your first website, reinventing your online presence, or looking for custom solutions to grow your business, 3GEES Media is here to help. Let’s build something remarkable together.
